Ingredients
ย ย

  • 3 containers (6 ounces each) of plain yogurt
  • 2 tablespoons of active dry yeast
  • 1/2 cup of warm water
  • 4 cups of all-purpose flour , divided (add more if needed)
  • 2 tablespoons of white sugar
  • 2 tablespoons of olive oil
  • 2 teaspoons of salt
  • Cold water (as needed)

Instructions
ย

  • Heat the yogurt in a microwave-safe bowl until it becomes lukewarm, either in the microwave or on the stovetop.
  • In warm water, dissolve the yeast. Then, mix in the yogurt, 2 cups of flour, sugar, oil, and salt. Beat the mixture until it becomes smooth. Add enough remaining flour to make the dough easy to handle.
  • Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead it until it becomes smooth. Place the dough in a greased bowl and let it rise until it doubles in size, which should take about 1 hour.
  • Shape the dough into 8 loaves and lightly brush each one with cold water. Use a sharp knife to make 3 diagonal slashes across the top of each loaf. Allow them to rise until they double in size, which should take around 25 minutes.
  • Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Brush the loaves with cold water.
  • Bake the loaves in the preheated oven for 30 to 35 minutes, or until they sound hollow when tapped. Brush them with water twice during the baking time.
