Ingredients
- โข 2 inches Ginger
- โข 1 ยฝ lbs. Boneless chicken โ cubed
- โข 2 tablespoons Ginger paste
- โข 4 medium Onions
- โข 2 medium Tomatoes
- โข 3 Green chilies
- โข 1/2 teaspoon Black pepper powder
- โข 1/2 teaspoon Turmeric powder
- โข 1/2 tablespoon Coriander powder
- โข 1/2 teaspoon Red chili powder
- โข 1/2 teaspoon Cumin powder
- โข 2-3 tablespoons Oil
- โข 1 tablespoon Cumin seeds
- โข 1 tablespoon Fresh coriander leaves (also for garnish)
- โข Juice of 1 lemon
- โข Salt (to taste)
Method
Step 1
Place chicken in a large bowl, add ginger paste, black pepper powder, turmeric powder and lemon juice and mix well. Mix in salt.
Step 2
Let marinate for 30 minutes.
Step 3
Heat oil in a skillet.
Step 4
Fine-chop onions.
Step 5
When the oil is hot add cumin seeds.
Step 6
When seeds begin to change their color, add in onions and sautรฉ till lightly browned.
Add in finely chopped tomatoes.
Step 7
Place chicken in the skillet and sautรฉ.
Step 8
Slice ginger into thin strips and cut green chilies into diagonal slices. Add both to the chicken.
Step 9
Add coriander powder, red chili powder, cumin powder and continue to sautรฉ for 3-4 minutes.
Step 10
Add tomatoes and 1 tbsp chopped coriander leaves.
Step 11
Add ginger strips and cook till the chicken is done.
Step 12
Add coriander garnish and serve immediately.
