Ingredients
  

  • 1 ½ cups of raw wild rice
  • 3 cups of boiling water
  • 1 cup of raw brown rice
  • 1 cup of diced onion
  • 1 cup of diced carrots
  • ¾ cup of diced celery
  • 3 cans (14.5 ounces each) of chicken broth
  • ½ teaspoon of ground thyme
  • ¼ teaspoon of dried marjoram
  • ½ teaspoon of salt
  • ¼ teaspoon of ground black pepper

Instructions
 

  • In a heavy saucepan, place the wild rice and cover it with boiling water. Allow it to soak for 30 minutes before draining and rinsing it thoroughly.
  • In a large skillet or Dutch oven, combine the drained wild rice, brown rice, onion, carrots, celery, chicken broth, thyme, marjoram, salt, and black pepper. Bring the mixture to a boil over high heat.
