  • 6 sweet potatoes , peeled and diced
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • ½ cup milk
  • ½ cup melted butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs , beaten
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup dark brown sugar
  • cup all-purpose flour
  • cup melted butter
  • 1 cup chopped pecans


  • In a large stockpot, put sweet potatoes and add enough water to cover them by 1 inch. Boil for about 20 minutes or until the sweet potatoes are easily pierced with a fork.
  • Drain the sweet potatoes and let them cool. Remove the skins.
