FAQs

1. Can I bake the S’more Eggrolls instead of deep frying them?

While deep frying gives the eggrolls that irresistible crispy texture, you can certainly bake them if you prefer a healthier option. Simply brush the eggrolls with melted butter or oil, then bake them in a preheated oven at 375°F for about 15-20 minutes, or until they’re golden brown and crispy.

2. Can I use different types of chocolate for the filling?

Absolutely! Feel free to experiment with different types of chocolate, such as milk chocolate, dark chocolate, or even white chocolate. Each will bring its own unique flavor to the S’more Eggrolls.

3. Can I make these ahead of time and reheat them?

While S’more Eggrolls are best enjoyed fresh and hot, you can make them ahead of time and reheat them if needed. Simply store the cooked eggrolls in an airtight container in the refrigerator. When you’re ready to serve, reheat them in a preheated oven at 350°F for about 5-10 minutes, or until they’re heated through and crispy.

4. Can I make a vegetarian version of S’more Eggrolls?

Absolutely! You can easily make a vegetarian version of S’more Eggrolls by using vegetarian marshmallows and checking the ingredients of the eggroll wrappers to ensure they’re vegetarian-friendly.

5. Can I add other ingredients to the filling?

Definitely! While the classic combination of marshmallows, chocolate, and graham crackers is delicious on its own, you can get creative and add other ingredients to the filling. Chopped nuts, shredded coconut, or even a drizzle of peanut butter would all be fantastic additions.

6. Can I use pre-made eggroll wrappers?

Yes, you can use pre-made eggroll wrappers that are readily available at most grocery stores. However, if you’re feeling adventurous, you can also try making your own eggroll wrappers from scratch for an extra special touch.

7. Can I make mini S’more Eggrolls?

Absolutely! If you prefer bite-sized treats, you can make mini S’more Eggrolls by cutting the eggroll wrappers into smaller squares and adjusting the amount of filling accordingly. They’ll be just as delicious, and perfect for snacking or serving at parties.

8. Can I use a different dipping sauce?

Definitely! While a warm, creamy chocolate sauce or a sweet, sticky caramel sauce are classic choices, you can certainly get creative with the dipping sauce. A raspberry coulis, a salted caramel sauce, or even a dollop of whipped cream would all be delightful accompaniments to these S’more Eggrolls.

In conclusion, S’more Eggrolls are a delicious twist on a classic dessert. With their crispy exterior and gooey, chocolatey filling, they’re sure to satisfy your sweet tooth. Whether you’re enjoying them at a backyard gathering or simply treating yourself to a cozy night in, these S’more Eggrolls are bound to become a new favorite. Ingredients

  • 1 quart of canola oil
  • 2 eggs
  • 4 milk chocolate bars (each weighing 1.5 ounces)
  • 12 egg roll wrappers
  • 48 large marshmallows , either microwaved or 3 cups of marshmallow fluff
  • 1/4 cup of powdered sugar
  • 1/4 cup of graham cracker crumbs (approximately 3 crushed crackers in a resealable bag)

Instructions

  • Heat oil in a deep pot until it reaches 380 degrees F.
  • In a small bowl, beat an egg.
  • Cut the chocolate into cubes measuring 1/2 inch.
  • Take an egg roll wrapper and brush the edges with the beaten egg.
  • Place the wrapper on a work surface with the washed side facing up, and the pointed end towards you, not the straight edge.
  • About 1 or 2 inches from the edge, place approximately 2 ounces of chocolate, and top it with 1/4 cup of microwaved marshmallow or fluff.
  • Fold the corner closest to you over the filling and press lightly.
  • Fold in the sides, making sure to create a secure roll.
  • Roll the wrapper away from you and press to seal tightly. Be careful not to tear the wrapper. If it tears, either pinch the dough together to reseal it or discard the wrap and use a new one. Repeat until all the egg rolls are formed.
  • Fry the egg rolls in batches of 4, turning them almost immediately, until they are golden brown on all sides. This should take less than a minute. Be careful not to overcook the filling. If you notice the marshmallows starting to ooze out before both sides are golden, it means the filling is overcooked and the egg roll will appear hollow inside.
  • Remove the cooked egg rolls and place them on a plate
