Oven-Roasted Carolina BBQ Chicken Wings

Oven-Roasted Carolina BBQ Chicken Wings

Who doesn’t love a plate of deliciously crispy chicken wings? And when those wings are coated in tangy, smoky Carolina BBQ sauce, they become irresistible. In this article, we’ll explore how to make oven-roasted Carolina BBQ chicken wings that will have your taste buds dancing with joy.

Preparing the Chicken Wings

The first step in making oven-roasted Carolina BBQ chicken wings is to prepare the chicken wings themselves. You can buy pre-cut chicken wings from the store or cut them yourself. Make sure to remove any excess fat and separate them into the drumette and wingette portions.

Next, it’s time to season the wings. You can keep it simple with just salt and pepper or get creative with a blend of spices. The choice is yours! Just remember to season both sides of the wings evenly for maximum flavor.

Oven Roasting

Now that the wings are seasoned, it’s time to roast them in the oven. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Place the wings on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or aluminum foil to prevent sticking.

Baking the wings at a high temperature will give them a nice crispy exterior while ensuring the meat remains juicy on the inside. Roast the wings for about 45-50 minutes, flipping them halfway through to ensure even cooking.

Preparing the Carolina BBQ Sauce

While the wings are roasting, it’s time to whip up the flavorful Carolina BBQ sauce. This sauce is a perfect balance of tangy, sweet, and smoky flavors that complements the chicken wings beautifully.

In a saucepan, combine ketchup, brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, and a blend of spices such as paprika, garlic powder, and onion powder. Simmer the sauce over low heat, stirring occasionally, until it thickens slightly and the flavors meld together.

The Perfect Combination

Once the wings are done roasting, it’s time to bring everything together. Take the wings out of the oven and let them cool for a few minutes. Then, toss them in a bowl with the Carolina BBQ sauce until they are evenly coated.

The result? Mouthwatering oven-roasted Carolina BBQ chicken wings that are crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and packed with the irresistible flavors of tangy, sweet, and smoky BBQ sauce.
