Air Fryer Mini Croissants with Nutella and Jam

But did you know that you can make these delectable treats in an air fryer? That’s right – the air fryer can give you that perfect golden brown crust without all the extra oil. In this article, we’ll show you how to make these mouthwatering mini croissants using your air fryer. Let’s get started!

The Magic of Air Fryers

If you’re not familiar with air fryers, let me fill you in. Think of them as mini convection ovens. They use hot air circulation to cook food, which gives you that crispy texture without the need for deep frying. It’s like having a healthier version of your favorite fried foods. And when it comes to croissants, the air fryer is a game-changer. You get that same flaky, golden exterior without the excess oil. Plus, it’s quick and easy!

Ingredients You’ll Need

Before we dive into the process, let’s gather all the ingredients you’ll need:

  • Mini croissants
  • Nutella
  • Jam (any flavor you prefer)
  • Optional: powdered sugar for dusting

Now that we have everything we need, let’s get cooking! Follow these simple steps:

  1. Preheat your air fryer to 350째F (180째C).
  2. Take your mini croissants and slice them in half lengthwise, creating a top and bottom half.
  3. Spread Nutella on one half of the croissant and jam on the other half.
  4. Put the croissant halves back together, creating a mini sandwich.
  5. Place the croissant sandwiches in the air fryer basket, making sure they are not overcrowded.
  6. Cook for 5-6 minutes, or until the croissants are golden brown and crispy.
  7. Remove from the air fryer and let them cool for a few minutes.
  8. Optional: Dust with powdered sugar for an extra touch of sweetness.
  9. Serve and enjoy!

1. Can I use regular-sized croissants instead of mini croissants?

Absolutely! If you prefer larger croissants, you can use them instead. Just adjust the cooking time accordingly to ensure they are fully cooked.

3. Can I freeze the croissants before air frying?

Yes, you can freeze the croissants before air frying. Just make sure to thaw them before cooking, and adjust the cooking time if needed.

5. Can I make these croissants in a traditional oven?

Absolutely! If you don’t have an air fryer, you can bake the croissants in a preheated oven at 350째F (180째C) for about 10-12 minutes, or until golden brown.

6. Are air fryers easy to clean?

Yes, air fryers are generally easy to clean. Most models have dishwasher-safe parts, or you can simply wipe them clean with a damp cloth.

  • 1 sheet of store-bought puff pastry , defrosted
  • 1 big egg
  • 1 tablespoon of water
  • 8 teaspoons of chocolate-hazelnut spread (like Nutella®)
  • 4 teaspoons of strawberry jam
  • 1 teaspoon of cinnamon sugar (or more , if desired)

  • Preheat the air fryer to 300 degrees F (150 degrees C).
  • On a lightly floured surface, roll out the puff pastry into a large square, approximately 12 inches.
  • Cut the puff pastry into 4 equal squares, then cut each square in half diagonally to create 8 triangles.
  • Position each triangle with the wide end facing you and the point away from you.
  • Moisten the edges of each triangle by dipping your fingertip in water.
  • In a small bowl, whisk the egg and tablespoon of water together, then set it aside.
  • Place about 1 teaspoon of Nutella in the center of each triangle, followed by approximately 1/2 teaspoon of strawberry jam.
