Whether you’re hosting a dinner party or simply craving a delicious seafood dish, this recipe is sure to impress. Let’s dive in and discover how to create this mouthwatering dish!

Preparing the Marinade

Before we get started, let’s talk about the marinade. The marinade is the heart and soul of this dish, infusing the shrimp with irresistible flavors. It all starts with fresh garlic, chopped finely to release its aromatic essence. Combine the garlic with olive oil, a squeeze of lemon juice, and a sprinkle of salt and pepper. Mix it all together, and voila! You have a simple yet flavorful marinade that will elevate your shrimp to new heights.

Marinating the Shrimp

Now that we have our marinade ready, it’s time to marinate the shrimp. Take a pound of fresh, peeled shrimp and place them in a large bowl. Pour the marinade over the shrimp, making sure each piece is coated evenly. Let the shrimp soak in all the delicious flavors for about 15-30 minutes. This will allow the garlic and other seasonings to penetrate the shrimp, giving them a mouthwatering taste.

Cooking the Garlic Shrimp

Once the shrimp has marinated, it’s time to cook them to perfection. You can choose to grill the shrimp on an outdoor grill or cook them on a stovetop grill pan. Either way, the goal is to achieve a slightly charred exterior while keeping the shrimp tender and juicy on the inside. Cook the shrimp for about 2-3 minutes per side, or until they turn pink and opaque. Be careful not to overcook them, as they can become rubbery.

Serving and Enjoying

Now that your garlic shrimp is cooked to perfection, it’s time to serve and enjoy. Arrange the shrimp on a platter, garnish with some fresh parsley or cilantro, and squeeze a bit of lemon juice over the top for an extra burst of flavor. These garlic shrimp make an excellent appetizer or main course. Serve them alongside a fresh salad, some crusty bread, or your favorite side dish. Your taste buds will thank you!

  • 1.5 tablespoons of olive oil
  • 1 pound of shrimp , peeled and deveined
  • Salt to taste
  • 6 cloves of garlic , finely minced
  • 0.25 teaspoon of red pepper flakes
  • 3 tablespoons of lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon of caper brine
  • 2 tablespoons of cold butter , divided into 4 equal pieces
  • 0.33 cup of chopped flat-leaf parsley , divided
  • 1 teaspoon of water , or as needed

  • Heat the olive oil in a heavy skillet over high heat until it starts to smoke.
  • Place the shrimp in a single layer at the bottom of the pan and cook for 1 minute without stirring.
  • Season the shrimp with salt and cook and stir until they start to turn pink, approximately 1 minute.
  • Add the garlic and red pepper flakes, and cook and stir for 1 minute.
  • Stir in the lemon juice, caper brine, 1 piece of butter, and half of the parsley; cook until the butter has melted, about 1 minute.
