Ingredients
  

  • 3 packages (32 ounces each) sauerkraut , drained
  • 2 cans (15 ounces each) turnip greens , drained
  • 2 onions , quartered
  • Salt and ground black pepper , to taste
  • 1 can (12 fluid ounces) thawed frozen apple juice concentrate
  • 1 can (12 fluid ounces) water
  • 1 ½ cups brown sugar , or more to taste
  • 3 pounds kielbasa sausage , cut into 3-inch pieces

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  • Place sauerkraut and turnip greens in a colander and lightly rinse them; allow them to drain.
  • Spread sauerkraut, turnip greens, and onions evenly in a large baking dish. Season with salt and black pepper.
  • In a bowl, whisk together apple juice concentrate, water, and brown sugar until the sugar is dissolved. Pour this mixture over the vegetables in the baking dish.
  • Arrange pieces of kielbasa sausage on top of the vegetables in the dish.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for approximately 2 hours, or until most of the liquid has evaporated and the kielbasa is browned. Stir the dish every 20 minutes during baking.
