package (16 ounces) of extra-firm tofu
, drained and pressed

of vegetable broth

of vegetable oil

of all-purpose flour

tablespoons
of nutritional yeast

teaspoon
of salt

teaspoon
of freshly ground black pepper

teaspoon
of sage
½
teaspoon
of cayenne pepper
Instructions
Slice pressed tofu into 1/2-inch thick slices, then cut again into 1/2-inch wide sticks.
Place tofu sticks in a bowl and pour broth over them. Let them soak.
In a separate bowl, mix together flour, yeast, salt, pepper, sage, and cayenne.
Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
Remove tofu sticks from broth and gently squeeze out excess liquid.
Roll tofu sticks in the breading mixture, ensuring they are evenly coated. You may need to repeat this step for a drier outer layer.
Place tofu in the hot oil and fry until they become crisp and browned on all sides.
Add more oil to the skillet if needed.
